My name is Jessamy Taylor. I am a creator and an athlete. I grew up in Forest Grove, Oregon, building treehouses and catching bugs. I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University where I focused on biomechanics. I just completed the Sports Product Design M.S. program at the University of Oregon in 2020.

I bridge the gap between engineering and design; between ideation and making. I connect concepts in new ways to generate novel ideas. I am an athlete, passionate about creating the best sports products by bringing together technical knowledge and design thinking.

I am an inventor, an analyzer, an asker of “what if?” and “how else could we do it?” This is why I became a mechanical engineer. I learned how the physical world around us works, and I studied biomechanics to learn how we work within that world.

I am a maker, a woodworker, a tinkerer, a sewer. I like bringing useful and beautiful ideas to life. This is why I studied sports product design.
